What is included / not included in the Kawagoe guided tour?

Not included in the tour price
Guests are responsible for paying the following personally:
- Food, drinks, and any shopping or souvenirs during the tour
- Admission fees (e.g., the Baking Rice Cracker Experience costs ¥750 for 3 rice crackers)
- Transportation fees (such as bus, taxi)
Returning to the train station is not included in the tour.
If you don’t feel comfortable getting back to the station unaccompanied, please let the guide know — we’re happy to help arrange or accompany you if needed!
Additional note:
If you would like to share a meal or coffee with the guide during or after the tour, guests are responsible for covering all related expenses, including the guide’s meal or drink.

What is the cancellation policy for guided tours?
- You may cancel your booking from My Booking page at any time before the scheduled tour start (including last-minute cancellations or no-shows).
- Full refund will be issued only if cancellation is made 12 hours or more in advance of the tour start time.
- No refund if cancellation occurs less than 12 hours before the tour start time, including in ‘no show’ cases (failure to appear at the meeting point at the agreed time + 15 min).
- Refunds (when applicable) will be processed back to the original payment method and can take up to 10 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Kawagoe Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., severe weather, public safety issues, guide illness). In such cases, a full refund will be issued or an alternative date/time will be offered at no extra cost.
Are the guided tours suitable for children?
Yes, our guided tours are suitable for children!
We welcome families and young explorers to join and discover Kawagoe’s Little Edo charm together. However, children must always be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent or guardian) who takes full responsibility for their behavior, safety, and well-being during the tour. The guide is not responsible for supervising or ensuring the safety of children.
Children under 10 years old can join for free (no payment required), making it easy and affordable for families to experience the tour. We’re happy to adjust the pace or focus slightly to make it enjoyable for everyone—just let us know in advance if there are any specific needs!
Do you offer custom walking tour options?
Yes, we do offer custom walking tour options!
Our tours are flexible and can be personalized to match your wishes — whether you’d like to adjust the course, focus on specific interests, change the pace, or add/remove certain highlights. Just let us know in advance or during the tour, and we’ll tailor it as much as possible.
The only limitations are that adjustments must fit within the booked tour duration (e.g., 2 hours), stay within the guide’s knowledge and abilities, and respect what is/isn’t included in the tour price (as detailed in our inclusions/exclusions — for example, we can’t add activities that involve extra admission fees or transportation without your agreement to cover those personally).
