Kawagoe Guided Tour No.6

Hikawa Shrine & Kurazukuri Street Combo

Hikawa Shire – Kurazukuri Street – Time Bell Tower

Step into the spiritual heart of Little Edo with this serene private tour combining Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine—one of Japan’s oldest shrines dating back over 1,500 years, renowned for its deep connections to love, marriage, and good fortune—with the timeless charm of the iconic Kurazukuri district.
Your expert local guide will share enchanting stories of the shrine’s famous matchmaking traditions, guide you through the stunning main hall with its intricate details, the Instagram-famous Ema Tunnel lined with colorful prayer plaques, elaborately carved Edo-bori style sculptures depicting mythical scenes, towering sacred trees that inspire awe, and seasonal highlights like the magical summer wind chime tunnel that fills the air with gentle melodies.
From there, transition to the cozy Kurazukuri street, where majestic black-plastered warehouses and the symbolic Time Bell Tower evoke Edo-era elegance, with opportunities to taste authentic local street food like sweet potato treats or baked rice crackers. Perfect for couples seeking romance or anyone desiring heartfelt blessings and a peaceful escape—just a short, customizable day trip from Tokyo!
